Watching Dad

It seems I have been spending all my time trying to get the camper across the finish line, or more appropriately, perhaps, to the starting line.  As a result I have been shirking my blogging duties.  Some people have been asking about the progress, and it seems all I can think to say is, "It's coming along.  I hope I can get it done in time."  This is probably due to the fact that that refrain seems to be playing on a loop in my head these days.  So with apologies to my friends and family for whom I have recently fallen off the radar, I will now head back out to the shop and leave it to Kinsey to fill you all in a bit with her account of what's been going on with "The Little Trailer Project".

                                                       Watching Dad
Watching my dad is pretty cool. I watched him for about a minute or two. Then I knew exactly what I had to do. Make another post. And as you can see it's the post I'm doing now. Soooooo...I saw him measuring a piece of wood. He measured to about 2 to 3 inches long. Then he turned on a machine; it wasn't all that big though. It was almost an inch. Although he did let me push a button that was little. It led to a huge machine. Oh, and the little machine was razor sharp. In fact the little thing-a-ma-bobber was a razor! It was the fastest razor I had ever seen! It went so fast that it looked like it wasn't moving at all! That was when I fluttered away. ( Well I didn't really "flutter" away). And that's also when I started this post. So I went back into the shop to ask dad how to spell some words and what to my wondering eyes should appear? My dad putting the handle on the galley hatch. Not so exiting is it?... Anyway... He's probably still working on where the handle to the galley hatch should go. But I'll check just in case. So I was right. And if you thought that dad would be still working on the handle and almost done then you were right too. And if you wanted to know he used beadle tape to glue the handle on. It is very useful glue.
This is the handle.
Great! It's day two. Today I was watching my dad again. And I learned how to make metal look better. ( I used a scrap piece of metal to do this.) And if you really want me to I can tell you the story of when I did this... O.K. Fine. If I really have to... ( Sigh). First I took my piece of beaten up metal and sanded it on all four sides and corners. After  the corners and sides were all smooth, I learned how to take the scratches off the metal. And this is how I did that... I rubbed sand paper back and forth across the piece of metal.  (If you're worried why the sand paper is making black shreddings of... I don't know, stuff... Well if you see that that's happening then it's O.K). Then I wiped the pieces of black shreddings off the piece of metal with tissue paper. Then I used scotch-brite, all I did with the scotch-brite is rub it back and forth on the piece of metal, like I did with the sand paper.
Check out my fancy metal!
It's day three!
The last day of this post. It is sad. But I will tell you another story. So... Today I will be talking about two parts of the trailer! The fan and the door catcher. First I will talk about the fan. I went into the trailer and the fan didn't look any different then what it had before. It's kind of like a superhero getting a new power. Just kind of... Well anyway, the fan was blowing out air! Finally! But what was really cool o is that air could go outside of the trailer! I thought it was awesomely cool.
the fan

Now for the door catcher. I haven't seen a door catcher in real life! I asked dad what the handle did. He said that it kept the door open and when you push it, it sends the door back to where it was supposed to be in the first place. I thought that was cool too. Then I noticed what was on the door. A thing that was silver. It was shaped like a flat gumdrop squished by a mouse. But a gumdrop only with the outline. No inside. That little piece was actually a very important piece. That piece was to cling onto the door catcher.
This is what I was talking about for the "gumdrop squished by a mouse."

Isn't it shiny!?!

Well.... That's I think about all I had to say, but if I forgot something then I'll  share it in the next post. Don't worry. Good bye! And like I always say, " Until next time..."...
