We left Sequoia with all the big trees and mountain roads. We headed toward Southern California. The highways got much bigger therefore there were many more cars. We headed around L.A. and surprisingly the traffic wasn't too bad, Mom said it could have been much worse. We arrived at Danny and Natasha's house around ten. Vivian was already in bed. We stayed up for awhile visiting and then Mom sent us to bed. In the morning Viv was very excited to see us. Later that morning we went to Jayden's Birthday party. He is the son of one of Danny and Natasha's friends. Vivian and I played in the bounce house.
Yum.
Bouncy! Bouncy!
After the party we went to Mount Soledad. We got to see all the way over to Mexico! We also saw Coranado Beach which is where we would go on Monday. The top of the hill was a war memorial. I liked looking at all of the people on the tiles that were part of the soldiers monument.
We drove down the hill to La Jolla. The shore was all rocky and rough. All over the rocks were sea lions. They were cute but smelly! We saw one itching itching its head with its tail.
The Pacific Ocean.
On way our way home we got frozen yogurt from Yogurt Land. Yum! Back at Danny and Natasha's watched the humming birds and waited for Viv to get up from her nap. Mom and Dad were doing chores. We had a lot of wet and smelly things from camping in Yosemite. Dad fixed the leak in the hatch too.
This is their very steep curvy driveway that was very tricky for the trailer.
They have three cats that were very friendly. The first cat I met was Paul. He is fat and furry. Very furry. He slept with us. Unlike the grey one, Little Cat, who is more sensitive and very noisy. Then there is Drake. He is very playful and the youngest. Unlike most cats, Drake lets you rub his belly.

On Sunday afternoon we went to the San Diego Zoo. Dad and Danny stayed home. Fist we saw the flamingos and the ducks. We saw a baby flamingo and a few baby ducks. After that we saw monkeys. They were loud and active. I saw two hugging, and they swung from the ropes in their enclosure. I imagined one of the monkey's doing gymnastics. We moved on to the baboons. I said that they looked like a mix between Mandrill and a monkey. Next we saw the gorillas. We got to see a mama nursing. We watched the orangutans too. They were really big and had a lot of personality. There was a baby one but he was hard to take a picture of because he kept hiding,
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!
Yee Hah!!
Big gorilla hand.
This is the one male orangutan. He was the biggest and his hair long and dreaded.
After that we saw giraffes. There was a baby one. The baby got left on the other side of there cage with the gazelle.
This is the baby that got separated from the herd.
We moved on and got to the koalas, and I learned a little something while the shuttle went by: some people call koalas, koala bears, but they aren't really bears.
How adorable!!!!!
We did see some bears though. The sun bear was hiding and the sloth bear was digging in the dirt so we didn't see his face. But we did get to meet the grizzly bear brothers, Montana and Scout. They were brought to the zoo because their mother was teaching them how to raid campsites near Yellowstone.
Monday we got to go to the BEACH! We went to Coronado Beach. I thought the water would be cold but it wasn't that bad. We had fun making a big drip castle, but the waves were really big and it kept washing it away. The waves felt like they would push you over into all the layers of sand. Also the beach was right to next an a military airport. Jets and helicopter would go right over our heads.
GrandMar and Popov Bliss especially liked this blog post.
